Referral & Intake

Referrals are made through the treatment provider

Clients are referred to Nova House by their treatment provider while still in residential treatment. The treatment provider also provides all the necessary information, documentation, house rules and admission requirements, which must be read, signed and returned before moving into Nova House.

Referral & Intake

From referral to admission

From the moment a client is referred, all key aspects of the admission process are discussed. While clients are still in residential treatment, they receive the Terms and Conditions, referral documents, Nova House house rules, and information about the daily programme. These documents must be read, signed and returned before moving into Nova House.

01

Documents in advance

All documents must be read, signed and returned before the client moves into Nova House. This ensures that the client has received, read and understood all the necessary information and agreements.

02

Introductory meeting

Before admission, the client has an introductory meeting with Nova House management to discuss expectations and answer any initial questions.

03

Intake interview

The client then attends an intake interview. Both the introductory meeting and the intake interview are conducted by video call.

04

Welcome by the assigned counsellor

The client is welcomed by their personal counsellor. This may take place at the Nova House office or, if the client is arriving from abroad, at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

05

Negative urine test

Following a negative urine drug screen, the client is officially admitted to Nova House.

06

Welcome pack & accommodation

Following the handover from management to the personal counsellor, the welcome pack is reviewed and the client is taken to their accommodation.

Waiting List

No waiting list and no gap between treatment and admission

Nova House does not operate a waiting list. Admission is only possible if discharge from the addiction treatment centre and admission to Nova House take place on the same day. There are no exceptions to this policy.

Discharge equals admission

Clients move directly from the addiction treatment centre to Nova House on the day they are discharged.

A bed must be available

A place at Nova House must be available on the client's discharge date.

No temporary arrangements

A temporary stay at home or elsewhere before admission to Nova House is not possible.

Accommodation Costs

Costs from the date of admission

Accommodation costs are payable from the date of admission. Care and support are funded through the Social Support Act (Wmo) by the client's home municipality.

Clients are responsible for the costs of accommodation and their basic living expenses.

€ 325,-

Monthly contribution towards accommodation, support and participation in the Nova House programme.

Payment on admission

The first monthly payment and any applicable security deposit are due on admission.

Payment Schedule

Monthly payments are made in advance at the beginning of each month.

€ 250,-

Security deposit is refunded in full when the client successfully completes the programme and leaves Nova House in accordance with the agreed arrangements.

Care Costs & CAK

Funding through the client's home municipality

Since mid-2021, responsibility for funding has rested with the client's home municipality. The application for a Supported Living (Beschermd Wonen) assessment is submitted by the client together with their therapist while they are still in residential treatment.

Supported Living

During residential treatment, an intake assessment is carried out to determine whether Supported Living (Beschermd Wonen) is appropriate. The client's home municipality also sets personal goals to support their recovery and progress towards independent living.

Care in Kind (ZIN) or a Personal Budget (PGB)

Care and support at Nova House are funded either through Care in Kind (Zorg in Natura – ZIN) or a Personal Budget (Persoonsgebonden Budget – PGB).

iWmo and the Social Insurance Bank (SVB)

When care is funded through ZIN, Nova House submits claims directly to the client's home municipality using the national iWmo standard. Where care is funded through a PGB, payments are made through the Social Insurance Bank (SVB).

Agreements with Municipalities

Nova House provides municipalities with the necessary information and documentation, including the referral form, terms and conditions, house rules and programme information. Agreements are also made regarding funding and other practical arrangements.

Contracts

Since 2023, Nova House has actively participated in municipal market consultations and European public procurement procedures. This has enabled many municipalities to become fully familiar with the way Nova House operates.

CAK contribution

When a client receives Wmo support, a statutory CAK contribution is payable. This is the client's own responsibility. More information is available at www.hetcak.nl.
